Bringing back the Fun!

Seasons of Marriage can shift over time, but hopefully you can time to identify which stage you may be in now.

And chances are, you're not only past the "Shine" early days of the relationship, but you're forgetting how to keep it fresh also.

We've talked this year about how that can and does happen without consistent attention - not constant but consistent. And even when attention is consistent, sometimes the attention can be rude or boring (For example, the same statements again and again, "You take the trash out, babe"?, or "Anything on TV tonight?" for the millionth time)...

And I'm not even knocking this. This is the stuff Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks talk about in the very "Nineish" "You've Got Mail" enemies to lovers trope.

Sometimes it really is just about sweet partnership and basic connections.

But let's face it, your marriage should also be a vibe sometimes, and even when it's not "adventure month" you need fun times and ways of replenishing.

I want to coach you to push your relationship into next-level territory, to remember and retrieve some of the fun from the earliest days, or to simply become playful again like this.

This involves intentionally going after love languages, speaking to your partner with passion and interest (intentionally), and bringing up topics that you know will bless them.

Not just trash or movies, but truly interesting topics to them - bring up baseball or silversmithing, or woodworking, or jetskiing, or whatever truly interests them and you both.

Don't feel like you're even close to the shine/honeymoon stage to even remember what you once loved?

Take time to discover it again. Write down 5 things you're passionate about and have them do the same.

Then write down 5 things you're both passionate about.

This should help to get you back on track for finding that shine again!

When Wes and I did this we discovered we both love putting on events he's social and I love couples, and now we're putting on another event together. We also love creative projects and will definitely make another mystery together someday!

What about you? Whether it's football (yes, I realize the season is coming back for some of you now and I won't call or bother you!), chili cook-offs, or Tango dancing, find your vibe together and don't let it go!

Keep scheduling time to keep your love fresh and fun! Check out The Enneagram Glow Relationship Planner for help in planning!

Let's remember what we love to do together this week and put some of it back into place!
