As much as defense mechanisms are in place for good reason, let’s admit we overuse them sometimes!

As you navigate your defenses (and I hope you do because that’s truly fire! 🔥).
Remember your goals can’t be met if you don’t do your work - this is your work to do and then YOU will be better.
Identify these defenses are in place for a reason and give yourself grace.
Give yourself self-soothing techniques that are lovely so you aren’t as likely to turn down the worst paths!
Take time filling up yourself on a biopsychospiritual level - this is big, look at it from all angles)
Understand your spouse has their own defenses and gently offer them ideas from a place of compassion and curiosity also, remember to make positive internal attributions about them.
