Sharing Your Light in A Dark World Matters with Wes Hardin, 1!
On this busy Monday, even though you might not think you have a lot to give, please know that your gifts - the parts of you that you're working so hard to improve, along with the small ways you give - are indeed EVERYTHING to your people and to the world.
As this pod details, it's all the light we cannot see that comprises most of the light spectrum, just as it is the small works of many people that bring the most change.
Yes, it's critical that we watch out for not only our own families but for those who are being outgrouped in our communities and in our world as well and do whatever we can to help others, especially those who appear weaker, elderly, less attractive, affluent, desirable or otherwise more culturally marginalized get forgotten and discarded.
Becoming numb to the suffering of others is dangerous and detrimental to society and home, and in this episode, I'm joined by my husband Wes Hardin as we walk you through finding ways to share your light again individually even when it's easy to get lost in a sea of commerce, distraction and numbness.
We walk through together discussing each of our roles in social giving through the lens of the magnificent Pulitzer-Prize winning "All the Light We Cannot See" by Anthony Dooer here.
We talk through callous ambition that turns to shame, the sometimes painful cost and reward of loving others sacrificially, and tips and contemplation on how you can take care of yourself, one another and your community in the thick of hard times.
And since we loved the book and the Netflix series both so much, we even throw in a bit of typing + character analysis as well!
