Creating your Marriage Mission together

Have you ever thought about your marriage mission?

For Wes and I, our common mission, our glow in the world if you will, is to bring joy and goodness. These are fairly natural elements that we bring both naturally as they spill out of us.

Whatever your type, take a moment to think about what you want to bring. I'll give you a short possible list of the types here and what you may bring:

1 - Goodness
2- Love
3 - Truth
4 - Depth
5 - Wisdom
6 - Courage
7 - Joy
8 - Protection
9 - Peace

Combining your gifts means bringing these together into a mission. Ask yourselves how you can display this together both toward one another and toward the world.

Wes and I were talking last night about how we have each done so many pleasant things for one another, and one way I like to bring him joy is by surprising him on special occasions and birthdays. One we were laughing about was when I took him on a very hot canoe ride in Geddes Park in Anne Arbor, Mi.

We had a hostess cupcake, a CS Lewis book, and a gorgeous setting. However, it was his birthday, which always falls on a sultry (OK, more sweaty than anything) August 1 and it was hardly romantic.

Still it was a joyful memory looking back and we laugh about it every time, which brings even more joy.

Amidst the everyday toils of life and marriage, quite honestly I can't even begin to count the ways he has brought goodness to me. He's just a really good person as a social 1 he always beckons us as a couple to be less selfish.

Our mission as a team is to bring these combined gifts to others. We serve children, couples, and we find ways to do this creatively, such as in our mystery dinner game which we hope will make people fellowship laugh with joy in good clean and fun ways! Check them out here!

Sometimes however, it's just the small stuff toward one another that doesn’t aim perfectly, like the droopy candle on a hot August day. It's the thought that counts, sometimes? LOL!

So take time thinking about what do you bring to one another?
