Hope for Healing from Pornography Addiction w/Author Jessica Harris, 4w5

What you consume really does change you, as Jessica Harris, 4w5, eloquently invites women to remember in this pivotal E + M pod  (we have a special episode on the same topic for men releasing today also as you can see below)!

In either case, consuming pornography does indeed change you and yet it's not always something people feel comfortable talking about, inside of marriage or out. There are many opinions about it, and we do not shy away from any of them, since we truly want to help you to make your own decisions for yourself as you take care of your body with us on the pod all month...

Instead,
Jessica's story, struggle, and victory in overcoming pornography addiction, which slowly took over in her life, simply speak for itself as she invites you into learning what she wished she would have known before she took what she considered this safe "middle ground approach".

She talks about some things she's rarely shared before on our pod too, such as what it's like knowing you have pictures out in the world out of your control (not empowering) but also support in walking to the other side!

This conversation is SO important within the church, one of the platforms Jessica is most passionate about sharing in, since women especially can feel so alone if they've struggled (since it's often seen as a male-only issue) and want help.

Jessica knows church leaders often need help with how they can even support those struggling.

Jessica is a Baker Book House author, and as you saw above, an Enneagram 4w5 (4-3 marriage pairing), and I loved hearing about her army chaplain hubby's support of her
here, too.

Listen
here on the pod as Jessica both shares her story and discusses an important topic for all, especially women who desire to find freedom and true healing from pornography.

Since this is such a big topic, and women are less seen in it, we wanted to highlight this here with women but we also have
a special episode for males struggling with Matt Cline of Restored Ministries as well so those males struggling here can hear Jessica's message or also Matt's, which speaks directly to them here (I loved seeing the same underpinnings of grace, community, and freedom in both)!!

As we discuss this pivotal topic that has been culturally ignored in many cases (often out of fear or not knowing what to say many times), we talk about ways we can hold one another with grace and love as we walk through and emerge from this and other binding struggles.

We also talk about what Jesus had to say to the woman at the well even as she confessed her sexual struggle and most, what you can do to regain healing from your own struggles as well as lean in to support those struggling who may come your way
right here.
