Fitness Goals

As we jump into physical fitness, we don’t jump ahead with the thoughts of being the most fit or the most perfect eaters amongst all of our friends and family - those titles and labels don’t really help us as we aim to love others as we love ourselves.

If you’re anything like me, this isn’t about being higher ranked in fitness, it’s more about intentionally finding healthy rhythms for yourself, maybe even healthier rhythms together in your marriage in terms of fitness goals!

Mental health is sooo wrapped up in the bodywork we do. We love and live in our physical bodies indeed!

As you begin thinking about physical fitness, I hope you make an intentional plan to get your bodywork in as we work individually or together, building routines in to your marriage so you can also thrive a bit more physically.

Take a moment for this one minute exercise.

Ask yourself: What is your main fitness goal in this season?

Just one.

For me, the goal is to do core workouts daily as they only take a few minutes and they provide sustenance for the rest of my body all week long especially while sitting which you know I do for my job!

I’m not shaming myself or counting the days, I’m just being intentional. I’m reminding myself that it feels fantastic to bring my body into this kind of balance.

What about you? Is it another exercise? A practice of going to the gym or watching a daily Bloglates video? (I love Bloglates and they have a phone app too for those who adore Cassie Ho!)

Perhaps it’s cutting out something that you know needs to be curbed in your diet with intention that’s slowing your metabolism to a crawl?

Visually picture yourself doing this too in this this one minute exercise. You may even be in bed and roll over to stretch right now as you’re starting this out. Perhaps you’ll start this new stretching practice daily.

Maybe you’ll add drinking an entire cup of water when you wake up like my husband Wes does most days! He says it’s so good for your kidneys and it’s an easy practice to begin with.

It doesn’t have to be huge to be helpful but it does have to be intentional. What will your new practice be? (You may add more than one but try to focus on at least one).

Extra tip: Talk about whatever it is with your spouse if you’re comfortable this month. In addition to the recommended practices in the planner, bring this practice to the table of intentionally growing in physical fitness together!
